Saturn in Aries

This article discusses the last Saturn–Jupiter conjunction as the broader context, Saturn’s recent influence in Pisces, and what to expect with Saturn in Aries. If you are only interested in the last part, you can skip directly to it from the table of content.

Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in an air sign

Saturn has left Pisces, where he has been since March 7, 2023, at 14:34, and has now entered Aries on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2026, at 1:11 CET.

The Saturn in Aries ingress must be interpreted in the context of a larger cycle. While Saturn takes approximately 30 years to complete one revolution through the zodiac, it forms a conjunction with Jupiter approximately every 20 years. The last Jupiter–Saturn conjunction occurred on December 22, 2020, at 0° Aquarius. These major conjunctions repeat in the same triplicity (Air, Water, Fire, or Earth) for roughly two centuries before shifting to the next triplicity. The next Jupiter–Saturn conjunction in an Air sign will occur on April 10, 2199, at 28° Aquarius.

In astrology, these conjunctions are traditionally considered the primary indicators of global events during the two decades in which the conjunction resides in a particular sign.

Fixed winds!?

Aquarius is a human, fixed air sign. “Fixed winds” may sound like an oxymoron, yet they exist: persistent air currents that circulate as the Earth rotates. Symbolically, Air signs stir winds, disperse clouds, dust, and even pollution.

In mundane astrology, an air sign conjunction does not typically bring radical changes to the world’s order (a role more associated with Fire signs). Rather, it acts as a precursor to shifts of power—like the saying goes, “the wind is changing.”

But in more physical terms, we can associate cardinal air (Libra) with particular events like hurricanes and rapid, profound changes. Mutable air (Pisces) points to times of unstable and often changing weather conditions. The “fixed” wind (Aquarius), however, blows steadily in the same direction.

In the northern hemisphere, there are three main types of winds:

  • The Trade Winds (0–30° latitude)
  • The Westerlies (30–60° latitude)
  • The Polar Easterlies (60–90° latitude)

The prominent Westerlies blow from the southwest to the northeast. Centers of (mid-latitude) power might therefore (start to) shift from west to east. In the southern hemisphere, the direction of these power centers is the opposite. Today, most of the world’s economic and military power is held by the United States, but this influence has already started to shift, with Beijing and New Delhi gaining prominence.

Shifting alliances

Air signs do not concentrate or consolidate power. They tend to indicate different or multiple alliances rather than fixed, long-term partnerships. We can observe this in NATO, which is showing signs of strain; the reliability and purpose of the organization are increasingly questioned, though it has not yet been dismantled. New alliances, previously unnecessary or unthinkable, are emerging. For example, the Weimar Group (or Weimar Plus) – incorporating France, Germany, Poland, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, and representatives of the European Union- emerged partly in response to shifts in U.S. policy and reflects European strategic re-calibration towards deeper collective engagement. Another example is the Canada–European defense partnership.

Saturn’s nature

Saturn is associated with mastery, perfection, concentration, and honor on the positive end but also with dysfunction, fear, famine, plagues, destruction, indoctrination, pollution, and major disasters on the other end. He loves order and precision, yet this can lead to rigid conformity. Saturn also reflects fear and responses to it, such as control, defense mechanisms, surveillance, or systems of recognition.

Let us quickly review the past two years with Saturn in Pisces before moving on to the interpret of what is to be expected from Saturn in Aries over the coming couple of years.

Pisces is a mutable sign, nothing is what it appears to be, and nothing remains unchanged. Water tends s to move around obstacles ad in doing so it can undermine and shapes then. Over the past few months, we have witnessed people standing up to injustice and coming together when their communities faced threats. Taking responsibility as a community is a positive expression of Saturn in Pisces.

Long-standing structures end up with unstable foundations. What was once considered solid is now failing to hold water-or leaking everywhere, if we borrow from popular sayings. Saturn in water can be imagined as a rock in a torrent. While the rock may not be destroyed, the flowing water has the power to reshape it. On the other hand, the rock diverts the water. This can be a moment when people recognize their collective strength if they remain united.

Water is patient, but what (or who) is being shaped may not realize it until later. Water finds new paths: if one route is not viable, it will go sideways. Only if nothing else works, does water accumulate, and finally the dam breaks. The result is a tsunami. Like the one in which Epstein ended up. It all began much earlier, with Saturn in Leo when he was first indicted for the abuse of a 14 years old in Palm Beach. The “royal” predator was first exposed. But this did not bring the sex-offender down. Saturn in Pisces made sure of it.

However, the enormity of those crimes has only begun to be understood. Many heads will fall when the true extent of the abuses is ascertained and hierarchical protections can no longer shield offenders; regardless of their rank or standing in high society: this is to be expected when Saturn enters Aries.

Saturn’s actions in Pisces

We have witnessed severe flooding worldwide: in Southeast Asia, with thousands of deaths, in Valencia, Spain, and across central Europe including Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic. India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh have been heavily afflicted. California has experienced catastrophic floods, as has southern Africa. In China alone more than 80,000 people were evacuated. The list of events goes on. Even desert regions, such as Dubai, have made headlines for flooding -suspected cloud seeding may have played a role, but the consequences became uncontrollable.

While Saturn can describe indoctrination and blinders, he also has a tendency toward obsession. The unspeakable genocide in Gaza and the prolonged starvation, targeted shootings around water distribution points and flooded refugee camps without proper drainage illustrate another dimension of Saturn’s influence.

Saturn describes blockages and in Pisces these are often related to the waterways. The Houthi disrupted maritime transport and triggered the “Red Sea shipping crisis” in November 2023, launching repeated drone, missile, and unmanned surface vessel strikes on commercial vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. This forced shipping to be rerouted around the Cape of Good Hope and put vital Suez Canal traffic at risk.

Saturn describes bones and the skeleton, which is why he rules corals, with their exoskeletons. A global coral bleaching event has affected roughly 84 % of the world’s coral ecosystems last year, making it the most extensive on record.

Of course, we should not forget about the Greenland crisis, a perfect example of cold Saturn in icy Piscean waters. The list could go on.

When Saturn is in this sign, he squares his nodes. This means he will reach his greatest latitude or bending and hence his greatest southern distance from the ecliptic. Since this planet’s motion by latitude looks like a step pyramid, it it not surprising that he has two peaks in latitude, the first on Oct. 26, 2026, and the last exactly one year later, October 27, 2027, at 2°47. These peaks often correspond are often moments of particular tension, such as the capture of Kabul by the Taliban on Sept. 27, 1996.

Saturn in his fall

Saturn is in his sign of fall, although he still holds triplicity rulership and aspects the signs of the Sun and Jupiter. In other words, leaving Pisces, he is now gaining some dignity.

Saturn’s cold humour

Every planet has two properties; one is fixed or innate and the other is variable.Saturn´s fixed property is coldness, this is his nature which can never change. Saturn will never show heat in any sign. However, in Aries, Saturn must adapt to the sign: he cannot change hot to cold, but he will make it cooler in normally fresher areas and hotter in normally warmer areas. His presence in this sign will simply bring extremes, the nature of these “extremes” depends on the underlying local conditions.

Saturn agrees with Aries in terms of dryness. The dryness is Saturn’s variable property and while his innate cold nature never changes, the dry quality can vary depending on the heliacal phase.

Saturn is occidental at the moment of his ingress and visible after sunset. In this phase, his dryness is further increased. This makes droughts most likely a prominent topic over the next couple years with a possible direct influence on prices on (bottled) water as well fruits and vegetables. It should be noted that Saturn has now entered an arid and hence unfertile sign.

In the absence of humidity, sparkles quickly ignite dry ground which is why wildfires can spread easily further increases extreme dryness.

Saturn represents small livestock

Aries represents sheep and Saturn represents standards, rules and homologation. In June 1996, Dolly, the first cloned sheep, became world-famous. Saturn was in Aries. The last time Saturn was in Aries, in 1997, European authorities expressed concern about possible undetected BSE infection in sheep and expanded their research.

Saturn and fundamentalism

Saturn in Aries marks new beginnings, which, due to Saturn´s fall are ex-clusive rather than in-clusive. Saturn emphasizes differences rather than unity. In September 1938, the Germans initiated the Reichskristallnacht during which thousands of books by Jewish authors were burned.

Saturn´s love of structure and rules can manifest severely in Aries, potentially leading to fundamentalism and exclusion or severe prosecution, as seen with Taliban who gained power in Afghanistan in September 1996.

Saturn’s fear

Saturn in Aries is like someone afraid of change: Necessary adjustments are delayed or blocked. Any innovation is kept in check to avoid loss of authority. The status quo is preserved at the cost of slowing the progress down.

Saturn’s controlling nature suggests that the full implementation of technologies such as facial recognition or other surveillance systems are to be expected.

Saturn’s energy

Saturn is the natural ruler of fossil energy, linking him particularly to petroleum and carbon. In Aries, he also rules volcanoes (as the natural ruler of mountains and rocks) or nuclear plants, where the splitting of heavy atomic nuclei of uranium or plutonium into smaller nuclei, releases large amounts of energy. The splitting process is emblematic of Saturn.

During the Fukushima nuclear disaster triggered by an 8+ magnitude earthquake, Saturn was in Libra and Mars in Aries. Saturn will now transit first over this Mars position and later oppose his own degree in this event chart.

Since Aries is the exaltation of the Sun, with Saturn in this sign, I would also expect issues linked to solar outbursts, radiation or the ozone hole.

Thema Mundi

Aries is a cardinal sign, and Saturn is now placed at the axis of the Thema Mundi. This makes it easier for him to shake what we take for granted -safety, energy supply, banking systems, or healthcare. What has served for a long time may now be dismissed. In Pisces, these foundations were already weakened by infiltrated water, which makes Saturn’s work in Aries faster, but more spectacular, as previously existing cracks may not have been fully exposed.

Pioneering or tradition?

Saturn often shows disregard for elders, other people’s experience, and tradition. Aries is a sign of pioneering, which is generally positive, but with Saturn here, change may not be properly implemented. Therefore, patience and in-depth work are recommended.

Therefore, folks, cheers to Saturn in Aries, waiting for the good stuff to come. The rest can wait.
