The figure of the leopard was often used to descri The figure of the leopard was often used to describe the sky or the celestial sphere. The reason is simple: the animal’s spotted fur evoked the star-filled night sky, with each spot perceived as a star. The animal therefore represented the moving heavens and many ancient gods were depicted wearing leopard skins.

– The goddess Seshat wore a leopard garment: she presided over the ritual known as the ā€œstretching of the cord,ā€ a foundation ritual for temples of the Early Dynastic tradition, in which the ground plan was measured and aligned astronomically. She is sometimes described as Toth’s wife.

– Osiris, ruler of the underworld in ancient Egypt . His priests wore leopard skins during funerary rites. Since the leopard represented the most elevated dimension - the sky - it ascribed power to whoever wore its skin.

– In the Greek world Dionysus is commonly portrayed wearing a leopard skin. For him, the leopard symbolized ecstasy and, possibly, forms of altered consciousness or astral travel.

Other gods, such as Durga or Tezcatlipoca, are also associated with large spotted felines.

Earthly power -but more importantly universal or divine power, strength, and authority -who among Earth’s representatives would want to miss that?

After the shootings at Brown University, now the B After the shootings at Brown University, now the Bondi Beach massacre. Both show how vulnerable we all are. My thoughts are with the victims and their families.
From a traditional point of view, fear (Saturn) dominates the chart. He is culminating and rules the 9th house of religion but he is in aversion to his own house and peregrine and hence pointing to some kind of deviated religion/fundamentalism. He also rules the 8th of death. He is still stationary adding fixation/obsession to the picture.
Algol is rising in the East and Gemini is at the AC. A bicorporal human sign, pointing to twins, a couple or 2 (or more) people.
Mercury is in the 7th, the house of declared enemies and in his fall. He has just set but the important point here is that Mercury is exactly between Scorpio's scissors, a very dangerous position linked to violence, knifes or cutting life (opposition to the AC "life").
Mars (agression), malefic out of sect and just OOB, very close to the 8th house cusp, and squares Saturn, L9. Zero religious tolerance. The aspect is separating but still close.
Mars is in the the darkest places of the Milky Way. In Jyotish he is considered to be in Moola Nakshatra which is ruled by the goddess of destruction. Of course, this is also the place of the Galactic Centre. While not an intrinsically negative nakshatra (none is) , it is linked to dismantle, uncover and finding the truth. But in order to find "truth" one must look inside oneself. Trying to find truth outside is more like a witch hunt that obsesses but never sets the seeker free. This is the dark part. The risk is getting lost. The real courage is not shooting but facing the dar within ourselves rather than in others.
The Moon is in aversion to Saturn but yet in antiscia aspect to the 10th house and she is squaring its ruler, Jupiter, the natural ruler of religious matters. He is below the Earth in a diurnal chart, exalted and in his own bounds but confused (retrograde). And of course, he is in the 8th from the 7th house stellium, including the L1.
